1.2 miles, 1-loop, in the Intracoastal; .94 miles for Olympic distance The triangular swim course will begin at the South Dock, and will be an in-water start. Athletes will swim south-north, with the majority of the course being a straight line, parallel to the seawall swim up to the North Dock. Swimmers will swim outside the buoys, keeping them to the LEFT at all times. More than 25 lifeguards from Life Guard Services will be monitoring the course, in boats, on watercraft, and on boards. In addition, there will boats from the West Palm Beach Police, Palm Beach County Sheriff's Department, and the United States Coast Guard protecting participants. Swimmers will exit the water onto the North Dock, and then make their way down the dock, and across Flagler Drive to the transition area. It will be a short 200 yard sprint to transition! Expect the water temps to be in the 80 degree range, meaning no wetsuits ½ Iron participants will swim the full 1.2 mile loop. Those racing in the Olympic distance race will complete a slightly shorter course (.94 miles). To learn more, visit www.PalmBeachFl.com/Tri or www.MotivationMan.com.
